Privacy notice

Hooked Harbor uses only the information needed to prepare orders, complete local delivery, respond to customers, keep people who choose to subscribe informed, understand anonymous website use, and operate the service.

Information we collect

For orders, we collect your name, mobile number, fulfillment choice, address and delivery notes. If you explicitly choose “Use current location” in a supported app, we also collect the delivery coordinates and location accuracy for that order. If you search for an area, road, or landmark instead, that search phrase is sent through our server to OpenStreetMap's place-search service so you can choose a delivery pin; enter your exact house details only in the separate delivery-address field. We retain order items, totals, status history, and a securely hashed private tracking token. We do not collect card, bank, or UPI credentials because payment happens at handover.

If you subscribe to updates, we store your email address, subscription choice, and an unsubscribe token so we can send the occasional Hooked Harbor update and respect your preferences. This list is separate from customer accounts and orders.

To understand which pages people visit, we record anonymous website analytics: hashed visitor and session identifiers, the page path, referring site, device class, browser family, language, timezone, screen size group, and optional campaign tags from the address bar. We do not store IP addresses, names, exact location, or full browser strings for this purpose. Browsers that send a Do Not Track signal are not recorded.

How we use and share it

Information is used to fulfill the service you requested, prevent fraud, provide tracking, improve the website, and maintain business records. Delivery details are available only to authorized staff and the assigned delivery person. Anonymous visit totals are visible to administrators in the operations dashboard. We do not sell customer information.

Our hosting, database, security-check, and monitoring providers process limited data on our behalf. The order security check may process technical information such as your IP address and browser characteristics to distinguish people from automated abuse.

Retention and security

Order contact and delivery details are automatically minimized after the configured retention period, normally 90 days. Anonymous website analytics and non-identifying operational records may be retained for the same period for service analysis. Order totals may be retained for accounting.

We use encrypted connections, restricted staff access, one-way hashes for tracking, secure sessions, request throttling, and routine backups. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices
